Duffy Street SRO (Single Room Occupancy)

The Duffy Street SRO is a for profit housing development for homeless men. The facility is a single room occupancy (SRO) facility that provides permanent housing for 40 men with supportive services. In addition, the facility has on site property management, laundry services, and common areas for residents to have various activities. Rent is subsidized based on the resident’s income. The subsidy is provided by the Housing Authority of Savannah.
120 Fahm Street
Grace House is a 50 bed emergency shelter designed to meet the needs of homeless men. Individuals must successfully pass a drug and alcohol test. If an individual tests positive, entrance may be gained by agreeing to receive alcohol and/or drug treatment. G.E.D and computer classes are also available.
Inner City Night Shelter
124 Arnold Street
The Inner City Night Shelter is a 50 bed emergency shelter designed to meet the needs of homeless men. Inner City is the only shelter in Savannah that accepts individuals who are actively using drugs and/or alcohol. Additionally, Inner City is the only shelter currently allowing sex offenders. The shelter doors are open from 6pm to 6am. Dinner is served daily at 4:30pm and anyone (men, women and/or children) may eat at this facility. Facility is also open daily for showers and laundry.
J.C. Lewis Health Center

The J.C. Lewis Health Center is a collaborative effort with Memorial Medical Center, the Chatham County Health Department, the GA Department of Community Health, and the GA Department of Community Affairs. It is a 32 bed respite care facility providing inpatient care for homeless and at-risk individuals who have been discharged from area hospitals, or identified as being too ill to reside in a homeless shelter. Also among these medical resources is a dental center.
Old Savannah City Mission

The Old Savannah City Mission offers emergency shelter, food and clothing to men who lack such necessities. The Mission offers three hot meals Monday through Saturday and dinner on Sunday. Additionally, once a week the Mission distributes groceries to needy individuals. There is no charge for the groceries; however, individuals (or families) must have a referral letter from someone– preferably from a pastor of a congregation.

The Salvation Army shelter provides a safe environment for men, women or
families. Other services such as case management and counseling are available.

Project SHARE provides emergency assistance to Georgians who need help with basic necessities – housing, food, medical care and utility services. The program assists the elderly, the disabled, the unemployed, the sick and others who are experiencing financial hardship. In order to be eligible for Project SHARE individuals must verify their income and situation. Additionally, individuals must provide documentation of all bills (current, past due and paid bills).
